A Brief about Shweta Dave
Shweta Dave is a management consultant with a perspective on everything. She is a loyal, calm & cool person with whom one can comfortably confide anything. Shweta likes technology but she is an avid reader, and she loves reading poetry as much as enjoying listening and singing ghazals.
Let us know more about Shweta Dave and her journey in blogging from her own wordings 🙂
Gurunath: Hey Shweta, while friends do know about sunshine and zephyr, less is known about you…how about unwrapping some aspects of yourself here?
Shweta Dave: *Smiles* thank you, Guru, for having me here, it is an awesome feeling and Yes it’s true that I keep myself private but many blogger friends know I am a management consultant with Infosys Limited in the manufacturing space. I am a Gujarati lived in Mumbai and Bangalore and currently based out of Switzerland.
Gurunath: Describe how did you first get into blogging? What inspired you to start your blog?
Can you tell me some of your strengths that really helped you in blogging?
Shweta Dave: It never started as blogging nor was I inspired, for me it was dull June of Switzerland when I was here on a short term assignment and me just one day started my blog which was then known as Shweta-Lifes like that. It was June 2009 and after that, there was no looking back.
Well, blogging like any other work needs dedication and honesty. I write straight from my heart not thinking of commercial aspects or how would it be perceived and I think that works best for me.
Gurunath: How do you manage time to run your blog efficiently? How do you motivate yourself to keep the blog up and running?
Shweta Dave: I am not one of those believers of blogging daily. I am my biggest critique too, so content has to be interesting. I blog once a week and that too when I think of a good poem, fiction or travelogue to share. Plus I have never got bored of writing thus always got a kick from a good plot *chuckles*
Gurunath: What do you do in your spare time? How much time do you spend blogging?
Shweta Dave: I have no spare time. Its work @ Infosys, then blogging, learning guitar, learning German, my youtube channel, travelling to new places, reading and thus no spare time at all.
Gurunath: What was the most challenging moment in your blogging journey so far?
Shweta Dave: The A-Z challenge when I had to write daily for 26 days that confirmed I am and can never be a daily writer. It hampers my content and creativity a lot….
Gurunath: Can you name some of your favourite bloggers and explain why they are your favourites?
- Datta – Every story she pens I feel if I were to write it, it would be a mirror image of the same story…
- Maniparna – she is my bestie who is multi-faceted and Haiku queen
- Kokila – my bestie whose poems are to die for
- Rakesh – He is a master of fiction and a bestselling author in the making
- Ravish – Have you read his book reviews, his perspective of the book is something to look forward to
And much more…..
Gurunath: What do you find the most frustrating aspect of blogging? How did you overcome it?
- People who blog to fill the number of posts on their site
- People who comment “beautiful” and “amazing” to get a comment in return
- People who overdo social media to get recognition
- People who write same posts again and again….
Nothing, I just keep away from such people…Hehe
Gurunath: Is blogging your profession or just a hobby?.A lot of people think that blogging is an easy way to make money online. Do you have some tips for those people who are interested in making money from the blog?
Shweta Dave: Neither…blogging is life….it started as a hobby but its passion now. I do not make money through blogging.
Gurunath: Last but not the least, do you want to share anything more with our audience at Best Of Guru (BOG) ?
Shweta Dave: Writing gives us a vent to our creativity and the things left unsaid and if we have the capability to do so…friends do pursue it…all the best and stay happy 🙂
Thanks a lot for sparing your valuable time with our readers, Shweta 🙂 All the very best for your blogging and vlogging 🙂
